Porto has once again strengthened its position as a gateway for international visitors. In 2025, the Porto Cruise Terminal, in Leixões, surpassed the 200,000 passenger mark in a single year for the first time.
According to the APDL, by the end of October 2025, 216,644 passengers had passed through the terminal, an increase of almost 30% compared to the same period in 2024. This figure represents the infrastructure's best ever record and confirms Porto's growing importance on the European cruise circuit.
Between January and October, Leixões received 138 cruise ship calls, including 13 maiden calls. British passengers were the most represented, followed by German and North American visitors.
For those visiting the city by sea, Porto offers a very complete urban experience: a compact historic centre, quick links to Ribeira, gastronomy, Port wine, culture and views over the Douro.
This growth is also relevant for those looking for pre- or post-cruise stays. Staying in a central area, such as Ribeira, Clérigos, Santa Catarina or Poveiros, allows you to extend your trip and discover the city with more time, without always depending on transport.
